The NEMU project – First annual NEMU conference

27.10.2025
Conference, Webinar

27th of October | 10:00-16:00 CET | Oslo, Norway & Online

For effortless, sustainable cross-border traveling in the Nordics

How can we make it as easy to plan, book, and pay for any multimodal journey in and between the Nordic countries in one go as it is to use the GPS in a car or book air travel?

  • Which cross-border travel services have been opened to the public already?
  • What were the first learnings from using open mobility data from more than one country?
  • How can public transport benefit from a pan-Nordic open travel planner?
  • What is cooking on open standards and EU regulation?
  • What will other countries need to join the MaaS roaming concept?
  • Most importantly, what is your contribution to the idea of borderless travelling services in the Nordics and beyond?
  • What are the next steps to reach the goal of roaming like home for MaaS in 2030?

Be part of simplifying planning and payment for sustainable mobility throughout the Nordics.

This is a hybrid event (Oslo and online), and participation is free. You are welcome to join digitally; however, the workshop sessions and networking are best experienced on-site.

We need your input to make the best mobility offer for ground and sea travel from anywhere to anywhere in the Nordics and beyond.

We invite actors from the Nordic Mobility Ecosystem including:

  • Regional Public Transport
  • The ODIN group
  • NAP authorities in the Nordics and beyond
  • Nordic+ Rail companies
  • Long-distance bus operators
  • Ferry operators, national and cross-border Nordics/Baltics
  • National transport authorities
  • Demand Responsive Transport actors in the Nordic countries
  • NAPCORE, UITP, DGMOVE

About the NEMU project:
Imagine one open multimodal cross-border travel planner covering Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Imagine that you, from your preferred planning and ticketing app, can plan and pay in your currency for a multimodal journey with bus, ferry, and train to anywhere in the Nordics, plus your local use of shared mobility options in the visiting country.

The Nordic+ project NEMU, funded by Nordic Innovation, turns these imaginations into reality using mandated open mobility data and roaming principles.

The NEMU project objective is to open two corridors of borderless travel planning and payment in one go: from Finland to Oslo, Norway, and from Norway to Copenhagen, Denmark.

The implementation strategy involves using roaming principles between national/regional MaaS actors, open mobility data following EU-mandated standards, and open-source components.

The NEMU project is a testbed for the quality and usability of the open mobility data as a foundation for multimodal travel planning across modes and regional/national borders.

The project aims to include cross-border ferries as part of travel chains.
