The seminar was an opportunity to understand the future impact of MASS on ports and can help ports to prepare their plans and preparations before MASS operates in ports in the coming years. The event took place on Thursday 11th of April 2024 at IMO headquarters in London.

ITS Norway‘s director of maritime ITS, Ørnulf Rødseth, moderated the first panel on MASS and technology developers’ perspective.

The panel consisted of three concise presentations, each from the technology developers’ perspective. These presentations explored aspects of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) in ports – from the ship’s perspective, cargo handling and mooring, and remote operations.
