On December 1–2, representatives from the Nordic+ ITS community gathered in Riga for a productive two-day strategy workshop. Delegates from Iceland, Latvia, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Estonia met with one purpose: to align, to strengthen our collaboration, prioritise our efforts, and commit to a shared direction for 2026.

As a formalised Nordic+ organisation, we now share a stronger responsibility and opportunity to work with our mission connecting the Nordics and beyond through seamless, smart and sustainable mobility
The workshop focused on three core ambitions:
- A clear 2026 North Star Concrete priorities and simple success indicators that guide our work throughout 2026.
- A practical governance and collaboration model Roles, responsibilities, and meeting structures that help us work efficiently across seven countries.
- Enabling growth, scalability and export Through stronger cross-border activities, real implementation, and shared Nordic capabilities — including dual-use and resilience solutions.
We also began preparing our application for Nordic Innovation’s call “Green and Competitive Nordic Region” (deadline 11 February ). The proposed project will focus on Nordic exports, scalability, cross-border readiness, and establishing a stronger foundation for sustainable mobility innovation, with clear actions to support our cities and regions.
The Riga workshop was more than a meeting; it was a milestone. We leave with a shared vision, clear priorities, and renewed energy to make 2026 a year of impact for Nordic+. Together, we continue working towards the Nordic Vision 2030: to be the most sustainable and integrated region in the world.
A big thank you to all participants, especially to our hosts in Latvia, for making this event a success!
