Save the date. In October 19th-23rd, Nordic+ and ITS Norway will bring Nordic transport authorities and industry to the ITS World Congress in Gangneung, followed by a three-day study tour to Japan.

The tour is designed for those working with real transport systems, not concepts. We will look at how large, complex systems are operated, governed and scaled in practice.
Korea – ITS World Congress (Gangneung and Seoul)
In Korea, we will focus on two priority tracks:
- Smart cities and system integration
- Digitalisation, AI and data-driven transport operations
Japan – Study tour (Tokyo–Osaka–Tokyo)
In Japan, the programme moves from vision to implementation and operations, with focus on:
- Rail operations, efficiency and reliability at scale
- Public transport integration and passenger flow management
- Autonomy in daily operations, including the role of OEMs, system suppliers and operators
- AI, data and digital tools for traffic and transport management
- Secondary focus on maritime traffic management and port operations
The programme combines joint sessions and parallel tracks, including high-speed rail, urban transport operations, autonomy and OEM perspectives, and public authorities.
A counter visit to the Nordics is planned for spring 2027 to continue the dialogue and strengthen long-term cooperation.
Target group: road authorities, PTAs, rail authorities, cities, ministries and industry partners.
