Together with Nordic+, our members have participated in world and European congresses in recent years—and with great success! The Nordic+ pavilion has been one of the most popular at the congresses. Still, perhaps even more exciting, our members have made themselves visible on the international market and gained great opportunities!
Edeva is among those who established many new contacts during this year’s ITS World Congress in Dubai – read the interview with them below!
The feedback on the Nordic+ pavilion during the ITS World Congress 2024 in Dubai has been both positive and exciting! In a survey sent out to all our pavilion partners, we received feedback that their participation resulted in 140 new contacts, 64 leads, and 12 RFPs (requests for proposals)—that’s fantastically impressive! This is precisely why we want our members to join Nordic+ at these congresses—the value and potential are enormous!
Can you give a short introduction about yourself and your company?
Edeva is a Swedish tech company that provides solutions for traffic safety and insights into traffic and environmental factors. We have an active speed bump, Actibump, which is only for those who speed, and a sensor kit called Actinode. The Actinode and Actibump systems are connected to the software platform EdevaLive, which provides insights into traffic and environmental factors.
We have been active in Sweden since 2009 and have more than 100 units in the field today. The Actibump brings down the level of speeding by up to 99% and maintains good accessibility for heavy traffic, which is especially good for buses since they get to maintain the correct speed instead of slowing down far below the speed limit. The EdevaLive software platform visualizes data and has shown us that the 85th percentile speed always ends at the speed limit, regardless of previous driver behaviour and whether the speed limit is 30, 40 or 50 km/h. The Actinode is a flexible sensor kit that can contain environmental sensors, number plate cameras, and other instruments to count and classify vehicles. Edeva is ISO certified in information security, quality and environment.
I, Karin Wiklund, am the marketing manager at Edeva.
Why did you join the Nordic+ Pavilion at this year’s ITS World Congress 2024 in Dubai?
We just became members of ITS Sweden, and we have never been to any ITS congresses, so we wanted to try it and see what opportunities it would bring. We have had good experiences joining shared pavilions before and wanted to see if this one would be as beneficial as the others.
Has engaging with global partners and industry leaders at the ITS World Congress 2024 in Dubai led to some new opportunities for your company?
We have a few leads that may or may not pan out. If they do, it will be big for us and open up a new market. Unfortunately, the processes are lengthy and time-consuming, so we probably will not know until next year if it has been a success. So I can’t tell you any more right now, but I will be sure to let you know if/when we have news!
Would you recommend other companies to join the Nordic+ Pavilion at future ITS World Congresses?
Yes. Having your stand does not provide as many opportunities as being in a shared pavilion does. You have a completely different context when you are in a pavilion. You have access to a stage and opportunities to pitch your company and products, an organisation that gets other delegations to visit, and better opportunities to mingle with the other exhibitors. The Nordic+ pavilion has been especially good at providing these opportunities!
These are truly inspiring words by Karin from Edeva!
Nordic+ is planning the Nordic+ pavilion for the ITS European Congress 2025 Seville – more information on this to come!
