Success stories from ITS World Congress 2024 in Dubai – Linefare

News

Together with Nordic+ our members have participated in both world congresses and European congresses in recent years – and with great success! The Nordic+ pavilion has been one of the most popular at the congresses, but perhaps even more exciting – our members have made themselves visible on the international market and gained great opportunities!…

The feedback on the Nordic+ pavilion during the ITS World Congress 2024 in Dubai has been both positive and exciting! In a survey sent out to all our pavilion partners, we received feedback that their participation resulted in 140 new contacts, 64 leads and 12 RFPs (request for proposal) – that’s fantastically impressive! This is precisely why we want our members to join Nordic+ at these congresses – the value and potential are enormous!

Can you give a brief introduction of yourself and Linefare?
My name is Davor Babic, I am the CMO at Linefare, a provider of ticketing and payment solutions for public transport. While our primary focus has been in Norway and Scandinavia, our solutions aim to improve urban mobility by offering seamless, efficient, and user-friendly fare systems that enhance the travel experience for both operators and passenger.

Why did you join the Nordic+ pavilion during this year’s ITS World Congress 2024 in Dubai?
We joined the Nordic+ pavilion at ITS World Congress 2024 to showcase our main product, Linefare, and our payment solution, OneSettle. Given that our primary market has been Norway and Scandinavia, this was an exciting opportunity for us to explore the potential for international expansion. The pavilion provided a great platform to present our ecosystem to a broader audience, engage with other innovative companies, and receive valuable feedback on how our solutions could fit into the global urban mobility landscape.

Has engaging with global partners and industry leaders at ITS World Congress 2024 in Dubai led to any new opportunities for your business?
Yes, the event has sparked some very interesting conversations. We were able to connect with key figures from global transport authorities, such as Dubai’s RTA, which is particularly exciting as we are still in the early stages of exploring international opportunities. These discussions could potentially lead to new partnerships, allowing us to evaluate how our solutions could be adapted to different markets outside of Scandinavia.

Can you share a specific success story or milestone that Linefare achieved through its participation at ITS World Congress 2024 in Dubai?
A notable milestone for us during the congress was the growing interest we received from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Over the course of the week, their engagement increased, and by the end, we had the chance to present to senior leaders, including a deputy to the head of RTA. He challenged us to present our value proposition in two minutes, and after we succeeded with this, he tasked us with delivering a proposal in Arabic by 10:00 AM the next day.

This experience demonstrated Linefare’s potential to succeed in international markets.

Would you recommend other businesses to join the Nordic+ pavilion at future ITS world congresses?
I would definitely recommend it, especially for companies like us that are exploring international opportunities. The Nordic+ pavilion provides a supportive environment to connect with global leaders and industry experts. It is a great way to gauge international interest in your solutions and begin establishing connections that could lead to future growth.
